Three thoughtfully crafted programs guided by Te Whāriki and Montessori principles — nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence from birth to school age.
In a calm, nurturing setting, our youngest tamariki enjoy music, books, painting, and sensory play, fostering wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.
Following children’s interests, we create rich learning experiences through messy play, sensory exploration, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow, nurturing social skills, early literacy, creativity, and supporting tamariki to grow in self-regulation and independence as confident learners.
Our school-readiness programme builds the confidence and skills children need for their next big adventure. With structured transition-to-school experiences through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, teacher-led provocations, and a focus on literacy, and social skills, children graduate feeling prepared and excited for school.
Every day is thoughtfully structured to balance active play, focused learning, rest, and nourishment — meeting each child right where they are.
We warmly welcome tamariki and whānau, supporting smooth transitions into the day. Breakfast (kai ritual) is shared in a calm, familiar setting, fostering wellbeing and belonging. Educators provide responsive care, meaningful conversations, and opportunities for social play and free exploration.
Preschoolers engage in structured, transition-to-school experiences through hands-on, inquiry-based learning that nurtures curiosity, independence, and confidence.
Group time includes stories and songs that strengthen communication and connection. Children practise independence through handwashing and enjoy rolling morning tea. Messy play, sensory exploration, and indoor–outdoor flow encourage discovery and active learning.
Rolling lunch begins with shared routines that promote self-help skills and respectful relationships. As sessions transition, calming yoga and quiet engagement support self-regulation.
Children enjoy restful reading, spontaneous learning experiences, and collaborative tidy-up routines that build responsibility and contribution. Ongoing care moments are responsive to individual needs.
Calm exploration continues as we prepare the environment for the next day. Educators connect with whānau through open and informative conversations, strengthening partnerships in learning. We close the day with warm farewells, celebrating another meaningful day in our village.
Our teaching philosophy blends the best of early childhood research into a warm, child-centred approach that celebrates curiosity, creativity, independence, and safe risk-taking.

Little Village Preschool is a place where children feel safe, loved, and truly belong. We offer a nurturing and inclusive environment where learning happens naturally through play, curiosity, and meaningful experiences. Our experienced and qualified team supports each child to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
We understand how important the early years are. That is why we focus on the whole child — supporting emotional wellbeing, strong relationships, and readiness for school. By working closely with families and offering a thoughtful transition-to-school programme, we help children step into their next stage feeling happy, capable, and confident.

Everything whānau typically ask — if you have more questions, we're always happy to chat!
