Yes, children's health and dietary needs are a priority. We work closely with families to support allergies and special dietary requirements, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. Our centre is completely nut-free, and we do not serve beef or pork. We also carefully check all ingredients to ensure they do not contain beef or pork products.
We offer two complimentary transition visits, each lasting up to one hour, scheduled around your child's start date. These visits allow your child to spend time in the centre, experience the daily flow, and begin forming relationships. We recognise that every child settles in their own time and our educators work closely with you to tailor the transition.
Yes, we see toilet learning as a shared journey between home and the centre, built on consistency, respect, and clear communication. We support children at their own pace, using gentle encouragement and positive routines.
Children with fever must remain home until fever-free for at least 24 hours. Children with gastroenteritis symptoms must be excluded for 48 hours after the last episode. These policies help protect all tamariki and staff at our centre.
No, Little Village Preschool is open all year round and closes only on public holidays. This means your child's learning and care continues uninterrupted throughout the year.
The earlier children begin their early learning journey, the more they benefit. We welcome children from birth to five years. Early enrolment supports strong social skills, language development, confidence, and resilience.

Invoices are issued on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on your billing arrangement. Payments are due one week in advance of the billing period. This helps us maintain continuity of staffing and resources so your child receives consistent, high-quality care. If you have any questions about your invoice, please don't hesitate to contact us.
For our detailed fee schedule, please contact the centre directly on 09 948 0365 or email Info@lvpreschool.co.nz. We accept payments via bank transfer and internet banking for your convenience.
Yes, we accept WINZ childcare subsidies. If you receive childcare assistance through WINZ, please let us know during the enrolment process. We're happy to help coordinate the subsidy with your fees and can provide any documentation WINZ may require. Our team will work with you to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.
All teachers at Little Village Preschool strive to provide, for the welfare of the children and a safe and stimulating environment. A copy of our policy can be viewed in the office along with all other policies. There will be fire drills, earthquake drills and lockdown drills carried out as per annual plan. Parents will be notified via Daily Notice board/text.
Yes, parents or authorised caregivers must sign their child in on arrival and sign out at departure every day. This is a licensing and safety requirement that helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures we know exactly who is in the centre at all times. Please make sure to complete the sign-in/out process each visit.
Yes, children are required to attend for a minimum of 6 hours per session. This supports continuity of learning, allows children to settle into the daily rhythm, and ensures they benefit fully from planned activities, mealtimes, and rest periods. Consistent attendance also helps children build strong relationships with their peers and educators.
If you need to change your child's booked days or session times, please provide at least one week's written notice. This allows us to adjust staffing ratios, update attendance records, and accommodate other families where possible. You can notify us by email or by speaking with our centre manager directly.
We kindly ask all families to adhere to their booked session times. Late pick-ups may incur additional charges as they require extra staffing beyond normal operating hours. If you anticipate needing to drop off earlier or pick up later than your booked time, please discuss this with the centre in advance so we can make arrangements. We understand that unexpected situations arise — just let us know as soon as possible.
If you wish to withdraw your child from the centre, we require a minimum of two weeks' written notice. This allows us to manage staffing levels appropriately and offer the place to families on our waitlist. Please notify us by email or in person, and we'll ensure a smooth transition for your child.
